Stuart:

The opposite of silence. This is the sound of the city in riotous celebration of the healthcare workers risking their lives every minute to save lives, to reduce the devastation of this pandemic.

This went on for a full five minutes, and the last tendrils are drifting away as I write.

Barcelona, 21 March

Last night, Schlesische Straße was the quietest I’ve ever heard it, in 8 years.  I stopped listening to a distant dear friend’s audio message just as she was talking about lasting change, or returning to normalcy, reflecting that no planes could be heard in the sky, only birds.  I stopped and listened to the Street from my perch just as I often do, and this is what I heard.

Stay here to listen to Schlesi at Night – every night, for as long as we need to, until its life returns – or its new life.

Interwoven with some of my words, and my voice, reading my texts, and other texts.

I love you.

I would love to share texts and recordings you contribute ✨ to weave into the tapestry.  PM ?
